Tribeca Loft Apartment

This loft is located in Tribeca in a building built in 1893, originally used as a factory storage facility. Our goal was to maintain as much as possible the original spirit of the space, with its materiality, details and imperfections. And to lightly layer over it the functionalities needed for a young family. Using a rich palette of colors and materials allowed us to integrate the new work to the existing space. We wanted to make a space that could hide in the shadows and be subtly shaped by the light, to create depth revealed through chiaroscuro effect.

All millwork pieces were carefully made by Louis Lim and Takeshi Miyakawa. Color selection art directed with Laura Alandes.

———————————————

Paint colors are from Farrow&Ball.

New floors are cement tiles by Concrete Collaborative.

Millwork pieces are by Louis Lim and Takeshi Miyakawa. Old-growth wood used on the millwork sourced from Tri-Lox.

Appliances from AJMadison (Subzero, Bertazzoni, Samsung, Miele, LG).

Plumbing fixtures are from Kohler for taps, and Duravit for Porcelain fixtures (supplied by AFNY).

Stone counters by Stone Source (Basaltina and Churchill Soap Stone).

Door handles Olivari Icona, supplied by Katonah Hardware.

Glass work is by Ace Glass.

New tin ceiling tiles are from Shanko Metal.
